Solana Swap Guide: How to Swap Tokens on Solana and Bridge Across Chains
This guide explains, step by step, how to swap SOL and other SPL tokens on Solana with Jupiter, and how to do a cross-chain swap (a bridge) with Mayan to bring assets into Solana from chains like Ethereum, BNB Chain and Polygon. Both tools live on one page: swapsolanatokens.com, a non-custodial Solana swap app with no sign-up.
The basics: swap vs. bridge
People often mix these up, but they solve different problems. A Solana swap happens on one chain, through a DEX aggregator. A cross-chain swap, usually called a bridge, moves value between chains.
| Swap | Bridge | |
|---|---|---|
| What it does | Exchanges one token for another on the same chain | Moves value from one blockchain to another |
| Example | SOL to USDC, both on Solana | ETH on Ethereum to SOL on Solana |
| Powered by | Jupiter, Solana's swap aggregator | Mayan, a cross-chain protocol |
| Wallet needed | A Solana wallet | A wallet on the chain you send from, plus a Solana address to receive |
A common path is to bridge first, then swap: bring assets into Solana with the bridge, then swap them into the token you actually want.
Before you start
- A wallet. For swaps, any Solana wallet supported by Jupiter's widget, such as Phantom, Solflare or Backpack. For bridges from another chain, a wallet on that chain, such as MetaMask for Ethereum-compatible networks.
- A little SOL for fees. Solana network fees are paid in SOL, so keep a small balance even if you plan to trade other tokens.
- Gas on the source chain. When bridging, you also need the native token of the chain you send from (for example ETH on Ethereum) to pay that chain's gas.
- The right token address. Many tokens share the same name or ticker. Confirm the token's contract (mint) address before you trade it.
No account or sign-up is required. This site is non-custodial: it never holds your funds or private keys, and every transaction is signed in your own wallet.
How to swap tokens on Solana
The Swap tab is a Solana swap DEX front-end built on Jupiter. Jupiter is an aggregator: instead of trading on a single exchange, it compares routes across Solana liquidity sources and shows you the best quote it finds. It works as a simple Solana token swap for SOL, stablecoins, memecoins and most other SPL tokens.
- Open the Swap tab and connect your wallet Use the connect button inside the swap widget and choose your Solana wallet. On a phone, if no wallet option appears, use the Phantom, Solflare or Backpack buttons to open the page inside that wallet's own browser.
- Choose what you pay and what you receive Pick the input token and the output token. You can also search any token by name, symbol or mint address in the search box above the swap, or tap a token in the Top movers panel to load it as the output token. Top movers has two tabs: Trending shows the biggest 24-hour gainers and losers, and Top volume shows the 10 most traded Solana tokens of the day.
- Enter an amount Type the amount to swap, or use the balance shortcuts in the widget. Leave a little SOL untouched for network fees.
- Review the quote Check the expected amount you will receive, the route, the price impact and the slippage setting. The fee for this site is already included in the quote, so what you see is what you get.
- Confirm in your wallet Approve the transaction when your wallet asks. Solana usually confirms within a few seconds. If the price moves past your slippage tolerance, the swap does not go through and your tokens stay in your wallet.
The price chart follows the token you selected, which helps you see recent price action before you trade. It sits next to the swap on wide screens and below it on phones. It is informational and can lag slightly behind the live quote, so always rely on the quote in the swap widget when deciding.
Swapping any token, including new or small ones
Not every token appears in the Top movers lists. Here is how to swap a token on Solana when you cannot spot it straight away.
- Get the mint address from a reliable source Use the project's official website or social accounts, or a block explorer. Do not copy an address from a random reply or direct message.
- Paste it into the search box Paste the mint address into the search box above the swap and the token loads straight away, with its chart. You can also paste it into the token selector inside the swap widget, which lists tokens it recognizes, with any warnings it has about them. Searching by name works too, but it often returns several look-alike tokens with the same ticker, so compare the mint address and liquidity shown in each result.
- Check the details before trading Compare the name, symbol and address, and look at liquidity and price impact in the quote. Low-liquidity tokens can move sharply, and similar tickers often belong to unrelated tokens. A "Verified by Jupiter" badge means the token is on Jupiter's verified list; it does not mean the token is safe. Unverified tokens are flagged with a warning, and tokens whose issuer can still mint more supply or freeze accounts are tagged in the results.
If a token is not tradable through any route, the widget will not show a quote. That usually means there is no liquidity for it on Solana at the moment.
You can also share a token with a direct link: add ?to= and the mint address to the site's address, as in swapsolanatokens.com/?to=<mint>. The link opens the swap and the chart with that token loaded. Check the mint address of any link you receive before you trade.
How to bridge into Solana
The Bridge tab uses Mayan, an independent cross-chain protocol, so you can make a Mayan swap from other networks into Solana without leaving the page. It supports moving assets from several chains, such as Ethereum, BNB Chain, Polygon and Arbitrum, into Solana. Depending on the route, you can send one asset on the source chain and receive a different asset on Solana, as listed in the widget. Sending assets out of Solana is not available on this site.
- Open the Bridge tab The widget opens with Ethereum to Solana preselected. You can change the source chain and the tokens on either side.
- Pick the source chain and token Choose the chain you are sending from and the asset you want to send. Connect a wallet on that chain when prompted.
- Pick the destination Choose Solana as the destination chain and the token you want to receive. Make sure the receiving Solana address is a wallet you control.
- Review the route and fees The quote shows the amount you will receive, the estimated time and the fees. Compare it with what you expect before continuing.
- Confirm and wait for arrival Approve in your wallet and keep the page open so you can follow the status in the widget. Time depends on the route and network conditions. When the assets arrive in your Solana wallet, you can switch to the Swap tab and trade them.
Moving assets out of Solana
The bridge on this site only goes into Solana. To move a token from Solana to another chain, such as Polygon, you can use Mayan's own app at mayan.finance or another bridge you trust. If the exact token is not listed for that route, a common workaround is to swap it to a widely supported asset such as SOL or USDC on the Swap tab first, bridge that asset, and then swap into the token you want on the destination chain. Support depends on what the bridge lists at the time, so check the quote before you commit.
Fees, slippage and price impact
Referral fees on this site
To help run this front-end, the site earns a small referral fee: 0.5% on swaps (Jupiter's minimum) and 0.30% on bridges (set through Mayan's referrer mechanism). They are independent: a swap pays only the swap fee and a bridge pays only the bridge fee. Both are included in the quote you see before signing.
Other costs you may see
- Network fees. Paid to the blockchain, in SOL on Solana or in the native token of the source chain for bridges.
- Protocol fees. Bridges can include their own protocol and relayer costs, shown in the quote.
- Price impact. Larger trades in thinner markets move the price against you. The widget shows this, and it matters most for low-liquidity tokens.
What slippage means
Slippage tolerance is the largest price change you accept between the quote and execution. A low setting protects you from bad fills but can make a swap fail when prices move quickly. A high setting makes failures less likely but lets the final price drift further from the quote. For volatile tokens, adjust it deliberately instead of maxing it out.
Safety checklist
- Check the address bar: you should be on swapsolanatokens.com. Bookmark it rather than following links from messages or ads.
- Verify the token's mint address, especially for newly launched or look-alike tokens.
- Read what your wallet asks you to sign. Never share your seed phrase or private key. No legitimate swap or bridge ever needs it.
- Compare the quote's output amount with the market price. Large gaps are a warning sign.
- Be careful with brand-new, low-liquidity tokens. Prices can swing sharply and exits can be difficult.
- Start small with new routes, then scale up once everything arrives as expected.
This site is an independent interface. It is not affiliated with Jupiter Exchange or Mayan, and all routing, pricing and execution come from those protocols' own infrastructure. Nothing here is financial advice.
Troubleshooting
The swap failed
The usual cause is price movement beyond your slippage tolerance, or network congestion. Refresh the quote and try again, or adjust slippage if the market is moving fast. Solana can still charge a small network fee for a transaction that lands on-chain and fails; that fee goes to the network.
My wallet does not appear on mobile
In a regular mobile browser the swap widget sometimes cannot detect a wallet. Open the page inside your wallet's built-in browser using the shortcut buttons shown on the Swap tab.
The bridge widget does not load
This is usually a temporary network issue. Use the retry button shown in the Bridge panel, or reload the page. Ad blockers and strict privacy extensions can also interfere with third-party widgets.
My bridged funds have not arrived
Bridges take time, and the duration depends on the route and network conditions. Follow the status in the widget, and check your destination wallet and the transaction on a block explorer before assuming anything is wrong. Keep your transaction hash handy in case you need to contact the protocol's support.
I do not see my token after a swap
Some wallets hide tokens they do not recognize. Check the transaction on a block explorer, then look for the token in your wallet's token list or add it manually using its mint address.
FAQ
Do I need an account to swap or bridge?
No. There is no sign-up. You connect your own wallet inside the widget and approve each transaction there.
Do I need SOL in my wallet to swap on Solana?
Yes, keep a small amount of SOL in the wallet to pay Solana network fees. Without it the transaction cannot be sent, even if you hold plenty of other tokens.
Why did my swap fail?
The most common cause is price movement beyond your slippage tolerance between the quote and the moment the transaction lands. Other causes are network congestion and not having enough SOL for fees. Refresh the quote and try again, or adjust slippage if the market is moving fast.
How long does a bridge take?
It depends on the route, the chains involved and network conditions. The widget shows an estimate with the quote before you confirm. Keep the page open and follow the status shown in the widget until the assets arrive.
What fees will I pay?
A swap includes this site's 0.5% referral fee, on top of network fees and any price impact. A bridge includes this site's 0.30% referral fee, on top of the protocol's own fees and the gas of the chain you send from. All of these are reflected in the quote shown in the widget before you sign.
Is this a Solana swap DEX?
It is a front-end for one, not an exchange of its own. The swap panel runs on Jupiter, which aggregates Solana DEX liquidity, so quotes and execution come from Jupiter's infrastructure. The site never holds your funds.
How do I swap a token that is not in the default list?
Paste the token's mint address into the search box above the swap, or into the token search in the swap widget, after getting it from the project's official channels. Then check the name, symbol, liquidity and price impact before you swap. If there is no route, the widget shows no quote.
Can I bridge out of Solana too?
Not from this site. The bridge here is set up to bring assets into Solana from other supported chains, such as Ethereum, BNB Chain, Polygon and Arbitrum. To send assets from Solana to another chain, you can use Mayan's own app at mayan.finance or another bridge you trust, and swap into a widely supported asset like SOL or USDC first if your token is not listed.
Ready to try it?
Swap any SPL token at the best available route, or bridge in from another chain. Non-custodial and no sign-up.
Cryptocurrency trading and cross-chain bridging involve substantial risk, including the risk of total loss. Token prices are volatile. Information on this page is educational and may change as Jupiter and Mayan update their products; check their official documentation at dev.jup.ag and mayan.finance for the latest details. You are solely responsible for verifying token addresses, transaction details and wallet approvals before you sign.
